DistElectronic was founded in 2007 by a group of individuals that were interested in giving a stronger exposure to underground and more known record labels having themselves experience in the digital music domain. Prior to founding DistElectronic, the staff made their proofs in digital music publishing with D-A-R-K Records, which stands for Digital Audio Record Kompany. They have been predecessor in the establishment of digital music publishing in that particular style: dark psytrance. D-A-R-K has been running since early 2006 and remains one of the leaders in that music genre.

In the beginning of 2007, new labels such as En Sof, from Portugal, and Triplag Music, based in Ireland, followed the path set by D-A-R-K and joined their ranks to benefit from the experience D-A-R-K had built in the digital distribution and exposure provided by their strong presence in the respective scene.

As of 2008, Pleiadians Records through Audiopathik, Intellinoise through Electrypnose, Kabrathor Records through Electrypnose also, and Mind Tweakers Records through Bash joined the crew. At this point, DistElectronic was born. Those were the first artists and labels that have granted DistElectronic the mandate to help having more visibility for their great music production and publications.

In other music genres, IDMuziq Records (Breaks, IDM, Glitch) and Node3 Records (Ambient, Chillout, Dub) also came onboard. In Techno, Prozak Overdose, Prozak Special and Prozak Records also joined the force.

The co-owners of DistElectronic both have strong assets in artists and labels management, music industry, marketing, customers services and much more.
